How To Create, Publish and Promote a Web Page

| Hi, my name is Chris Carl. I am the President
of Winning Video ProductionsTM, one of the largest publishers
on the Internet. In 1962, at the age of 12, I began my career in the publishing business as a carrier for the St. Paul Dispatch and Pioneer Press. I delivered papers every morning, seven days a week and delivered evening papers Monday through Saturday. Distributing information has changed tremendously since then. I developed an interest in electronics early in life, and experimented with electromagnetics, crystal radios and tape recorders. From 1968 to 1978 I worked for a garage door distribution company where I became familiar with digital radio signals and the remote control of doors, gates and other mechanical items. I went on to become sales manager and was responsible for creating advertising copy as well as the purchasing and placement of advertising. From 1978 to 1980 I managed a rock and roll band and produced a record. In 1980 I became a writer and an advertising salesperson for the St. Charles Press and in 1981 I started my own weekly newspaper called the Whitewater Weekly. During my years with the Whitewater Weekly I became very familiar with a new invention known as the computerized typesetter. This machine revolutionized the publishing business. In 1991 I bought my first IBM compatible PC and became familiar with the word processor and in 1994, after purchasing my 3rd PC, I began exploring the Internet. I had just written and produced a series of videos and had an interest in national and international marketing. It did not take long before I saw the potential of publishing on the Internet and I started to learn about creating web pages. What I found was that most people who were in the business of creating Web Pages were very tight lipped and offered little other than high prices for their services. The "Smoke and Mirrors" attitude that I got from so many people in the business led me to believe that it was actually a very simple process. I tried several software programs that created web pages and learned that, with the right program, creating web pages was as easy as using a word processor. The next hurdle was getting my pages onto an Internet Server and the final step was registering my Web Pages with Search Engines and directories so that people could find them. With my background it took me three months and hundreds of hours to become proficient at creating Web Pages, publishing them on the Internet and registering them with search engines, catalogs and directories.
